BACKSIDE

POP-SHUVIT

The backside pop-shuvit is a really easy trick to learn, maybe even easier than the ollie.   For the backside pop-shuvit, your front foot is placed in the middle of you board, and the back foot is placed on the outside curve of the tail (to increase the spin of the board, and in the future for a big spin).

You spring off on your board the same way you would an ollie.   Only now as you tap the tail on the ground, you must drag your back foot behind you allowing the board to spin 180 degrees.   When you see that the board has spun 180 degrees you place your feet back on the board, catching it in the air and riding away.   You have to remember when doing a flip trick to try to hover over your board, by hovering you will most likely never miss you mark.   Otherwise you could catch it with your front or back foot off the board causing you to kiss the floor.   Refer to the video by clicking on the quicktime link below.
