OLLIE

The ollie is the first trick you should learn. Being one the simplest tricks, the ollie is the basis of all other tricks; grinds, flip tricks, etc.

The ollie is done by placing your front foot in the middle of the board while the back foot if placed o the back tail of the board.   Heel up with your toes on almost the very tip of the tail (to increase the height of your ollie).   You begin the ollie as you would a hop or jump.   Bend your knees slightly (90 degrees is enough), then spring up tapping the back tail as you jump pushing forward with your front foot, also dragging your front toe a little.   When doing the ollie, you have to remember to keep your back leg straight.   Bring your knees up to your chest after you drag your front foot across the board (allowing the board to stick to your feet).   Refer to the video by clicking on the quicktime link.
